A LAUNDERETTE has been forced to close for a week after a blaze ripped through a store room.
Firefighters were called to the Bubbles Launderette in Chesham Road, Walmersley, at 11.30pm on Wednesday after a neighbour called 999.
Marian Entwistle, aged 80, who lives above the launderette, was alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm and managed to escape unharmed.
The fire is believed to have started in a faulty light switch in a store cupboard, which was left severely smoke logged.
