A BURY dad was shot three times in the leg while his children and grandchildren were asleep upstairs.
Chris Trippier (40) was sleeping on the sofa in his home in Heath Avenue, Summerseat, when three men wearing balaclavas stormed through the front door at around 6.20am on Saturday.
They fired three shots from a gun and fled. Mr Trippier called the police and was taken to Fairfield General Hospital. He was discharged on Tuesday after surgeons assessed the damage to his leg. His family have declined to comment.
Four people, including a woman, were arrested hours after the shooting and have since been released on bail until December, pending further inquiries.
