IT’S the perfect ten for a thriving Bury recruitment company as it celebrates its first decade in business.

HC Recruitment bosses say their strict customer-focused approach and concentration on exceeding their clients’ expectations are the hallmarks of the success achieved since the firm was launched in 1998.

This is illustrated by the fact that HC has an enviable current turnover in excess of £10 million.

The business was founded by two experienced recruitment consultants, Nick Hall and Matt Cullen, who are now directors.

It started out supplying pickers/packers to local companies and four years ago diversified into the commercial sector, embracing call centres and similar clients.

And two years ago, HC’s business plan evolved to concentrate on on-site recruitment solutions throughout the UK.

Today, the company operates from its £400,000 purpose-built head office at the Waterfold Business Park and has a 30-strong staff.

It employs 1,500 temps at peak and has offices in Manchester, Norwich, Sunderland, Nottingham, London and Liverpool.

Among its ‘blue chip’ clients are JD Sports Fashion, located in Bury, Character Options and Ramsbottom-based TNT while HC’s commercial customers embrace LBM, Barclays, Unicom and Findel Director. HC has placed more than 3,000 staff each year in various companies.

Unusual for the sector, HC Recruitment has maintained its coveted ISO 9001 quality standard for three years.

Director Matt Cullen said: “We expect 25 per cent growth year-on-year as a minimum and want to be a market leader in recruitment over the next five years.

“The aim of HC Recruitment is to ensure total client satisfaction, to achieve maximum growth through good practice, referral and recommendation and to practise efficient and professional procedures in all aspects of the recruitment process.

“We strive to stand out among our competitors as a company with the highest of standards.”
