BURY South drew 9-9 against visitors Fylde who won both doubles games before the hosts came back in the singles.

The star of the show was Ken Eccles who won all four of his games. Judith Gaskell and Margaret Eccles each won two and Sheila Bruckshaw one.

Bury North beat Pendle 12-6 with newcomer Graham Good winning all four games. Vi Richards won three, as did Maureen Whittle and Susan Hardman and the doubles were even.

In association, both Bury Peelers and Bury Caesars played.

Chester visited Peelers and edged a win 4-3. For Bury, Paul Kenworthy won both of his including a three-ball finish in the first. The only other other win recorded for the home side was Margaret Anderton, +5 on time.

Bury Caesars moved to the top of the North West Fed Handicap League, winning 4-3. Graham Good won both of his, Tony Phillips won one and Graham Saunders and Mac Hardman edged the doubles game +2.
