TOM Soares put himself in the frame for Saturday’s trip to Fleetwood Town after returning from injury in Bury Under-21s’ encouraging 2-0 win at Blackburn Rovers.

The Shakers vice-captain played 55 minutes before being replaced by youngster Brayden Shaw, who duly opened the scoring. John Rooney bagged the second, finishing off a move set up by Jessy Reindorf.

The side also featured new signing Marcos Navas, who is in line to replace Fleetwood loanee Shaun Beeley, who is unable to play against his parent club.
