BURY Amateur Boxing Club fighter Ibrahim Nadim has made it through to the last four of the British Boys and Girls Club Championships.
The 16-year-old boxer won his quarter-final bout against Connor Kelsall, of Tom Hill ABC, at a meeting at Sheffield Working Men's Club on Sunday.
He came through a tough contest in the 46-48k division on a split decision.
Nadim will now fight in Bridlington on Saturday for a place in the national finals.
Club team-mate Mauvia Nadim, also 16, was due to compete in the quarter-finals but was pulled out of his bout after being picked to compete for England in a Box Cup event in Germany next weekend, which clashed with the finals of the Boys and Girls Club Championships.
Mauvia will join a 14-strong England team on the trip to continent and will fight in the 52k division.
Elsewhere, Bury ABC boxer John Dyke beat Charlie McDonnell, of Jennings ABC, via a unanimous points decision at a meeting in Charnock Richard on Friday.
