BURY have completed the sale of Leon Clarke to Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee.
The forward has penned a three-year deal at Bramall Lane and will link up with former Shakers left-back Chris Hussey who made the switch earlier this summer.
After signing on a free transfer from Wolves one year ago, the Shakers stand to make a good profit from the sale of the striker.
The 31-year-old netted 18 times last term but apparently had his "head turned" when hearing of the Blades' interest.
David Flitcroft claimed the club had previously turned down three "comical" and "embarrassing" offers, but after a fourth improved bid was submitted the Shakers reluctantly allowed their prized asset to depart.
