TOTTINGTON St Johns Cricket Club are hosting an open day on Sunday to showcase the redevelopment of their Beryl Avenue home.

A new outfield and drainage system has been installed in time for the new Greater Manchester Cricket League campaign, starting next weekend.

The day will be a celebration of what the club describes as its “proudest” achievement.

A club statement says they have “built a facility fit for the future; they are now looking to safeguard the future with the introduction of a junior set-up”.

St Johns are looking to grow their junior set-up, led by ECB level-two coaches, and club members, Stuart Batigan and Ian Hayes, who will both be present on Saturday to meet prospective new players.

They will be starting the All Stars Cricket programme this summer, and there will be activities ongoing throughout the day on Sunday from 12pm.
