IT was another busy and successful week for Bury Cycle Speedway Club.

Firstly, last Wednesday, Bury played host to the Manchester League Under-19s Individual final with three members in the line-up ā€“ Adam Turnbull, Eryk Matala and Harry Radford, the latter being the youngest in the field aged just 14.

Turnbull won his first race, with Radford third and Matala fourth.

Disaster struck in heat two as Turnbull was excluded for moving at the start. Matala won ahead of Radford in second.

Heat three saw Turnbull take his second win with Radford once again second.

In the last heat, there was a third triumph for Turnbull but Radford, trying hard for second again, fell and finished last.

Turnbull totalled 12 points, Louis Wright, of Stockport, got 10, Radford took nine and Matala scored eight as Bury took first and third in a hard-fought individual event.

Radford then had a long trip to Norwich on Sunday, for the u14sā€™ British Individual Championship, on a scorching hot day and a very dry track.

He scored 14 points and earned sixth place in a fiercely-fought event which took two run-off heats to decide the top three places.
