There was a fantastic turnout from Radcliffe Athletic Club when 19 members took part in the popular Ramsbottom Summer Mile.

Gary Adkins was the club’s first finisher and a great seventh overall in 5:07 over the mile course which is run on grass and paths in Nuttall Park.

Jenny Yates was fourth woman overall in 6:26 and Julie Robertson was eighth in 06:34.

Also running were: Chris Paxton (5:52); Kris Lee (6:05); Paul Benson (6:08); Ian Swan (6:30); Steve Hamer (7:12); Grace Williams (7:23); Jen Entwistle (8:10); Caroline Malone (8:12): Vincent Ashton (8:11); Peter Warr (8:30); Elaine Bailey (8:37); Karen Doherty (8:49); Lucy Tetler (8:49); Natalie Hitchen (9:01); Tracy Wroe (9:33) and Andy Wheeler (10:21).

Four RAC juniors also took part in the 1k fun run: Lucas Paxton, Sophie Scholes and Niamh and Aoife Warr.

There was more success for Radcliffe members at the hilly Rochdale 10k which started and finished in Springfield Park.

Rob Shiels was 27th in a field of 149 in 40:44. Sheila Jones was second F65 in 50:39 and Kathryn Davies ran 55:38 to finish third F55.

Tracy Wroe experienced the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations when she took park on a night run with a difference, finishing the Run the Lights Blackpool 10k in 01:04:54.

A large contingent of Radcliffe runners took part in the 500th parkrun at Heaton Park. Jenny Yates finished the 5k course in 22:14 while Sheila Jones ran 23:49, Steve Hamer 25:02, Nick Barnes 30:36, Debi Warrington 31:00, Caroline Malone 31:01, Jen Entwistle 35:17, Amanda Callan 35:47, Bev Quinton 36:52, Iain Harris 39:31, Tracy Wroe 42:10 and Charles Whalley 49:44.

At Bolton parkrun Kath Davies ran 28:02, Mark Williams 29:04, Lucy Tetler 34:18 and Sarah Jackson 43:14.
