Half-centuries from Bobby Naeem (86) and Saif Bhojani (51) were not enough to prevent a six-wicket defeat for Walshaw in Greater Manchester Cricket League’s Premier Division at Astley and Tyldesley.

The pair helped Walshaw to 252-5 before A&T reached 254-4 despite Joshua Rhodes taking 4-68.

Woodbank also went down on the road - at Heyside by 64 runs.

The hosts made 281-7 with Ryan Barker taking 4-88 before Imran Mirza’s 91 and Chalana De Silva’s 44 were in vain as Woodbank made 217 to fall short.

There was better news at Prestwich where the hosts beat Clifton by 27 runs.

James Wharmby top scored with 49 as Prestwich made 144 then good bowling from Nathan Bailey (4-31), Ryan Maddock (3-40) and Shivam Chauhan (3-26) restricted Clifton to 117 all out.

There was an 11-run victory for Brooksbottom at Glossop in Premier Two.

Ashley Gowers hit 32 as Brooks made 127 before Mohsan Iqbal (4-45) and Luke Sumner (3-23) helped skttle the hosts for 116.

Bury went down by 102 runs at Heaton despite more good bowling from Damario Goodman (4-79) and a knock of 42 from Mohammed Zulfiqar.

Bury could only reach 134 chasing Heaton’s 236-8.

Stand, though, registered a 58-run win at home to Flixton.

Laurence Ollerton scored 37 as they made 139 before Chris Williams (5-31) helped bowl out the visitors for just 81.

In the Championship, Elton won on Duckworth Lewis after Zakir Asif hit 70 in their 127-9.

Woodhouses could only muster 87 thanks to good bowling from Steven Filkins (4-17) and Gareth Edwards (3-33).

In Division One, Dan Jenkins took 4-50 for Edenfield but they lost by 139 runs at Uppermill.

The hosts made 251-9 before Edenfield replied with 112, Harry Fallon the top runs scorer with 29 not out.

Tottington St Johns fell agonisingly short by four runs in their chase of United Stars’ total of 159 in Division Two A.

Mike Burns took 5-54 and Niko Brooky 3-21 before Burns made 51 in the Totty reply that totalled 155.

Radcliffe made 109, Shahzaib Mazhar (30) top scoring, but went down to Worsley 302-5 on Duckworth Lewis.

In a low-scoring affair, Prestwich seconds beat East Lancs Paper Mill by eight wickets.

Mark Robinson made 38 while Prestwich’s Adam Cheshire took 4-14 as ELPM scored 67 and the visitors then coasted to 68-2.

In Lancashire League Division One, Ramsbottom went down by 193 runs against Walsden.

Ramsbottom collapsed from 80-3 to 84 all out after Walsden made 277-5.

Greenmount also lost, by 15 runs at home against Rochdale.

Dale scored 276-8, Matt Senior taking two wickets.

Chasing a revised 282 Greenmount were struggling at 126-7 after professional Chesney Hughes had made 51 and Andy Kerr 27.

Skipper Ryan Senior (59) came to the rescue adding 105 for the eighth wicket with Callum Hunter (71), but it wasn’t enough.
