Holcombe Brook A retained the BSF Junior League title in convincing fashion, winning all of their matches and only dropping 12 sets over the whole season.

Alec Foote, Charlie Foley and Sachin Govind were ever-present and Matthew Whitelaw only missed two matches.

Beth Coton, Sarah Kidd and Natalie Wall formed the nucleus of the girls in the team.

After a closely fought tussle, Bellingham took the runners-up spot, overcoming a strong challenge from Holcombe Brook B and Tydesley A.

David Lloyd (Manchester) followed up last year’s Division Four title win with top spot in Division Three this season.

Holcombe Brook C were runners-up for the second year in a row and will be hoping that, this year, they are not prevented from taking up their position in Division Two by any reformatting of the league.

Like David Lloyd (Manchester), Bradshaw B made it two titles in succession, winning all their matches in Division Four.

Walmer won their final match against St Joseph’s B 10-2 to clinch the runners-up spot.

Going into the last round of matches, Hawkshaw C were the only team in the league without a point.

In their final match at Barrow Bridge, they were 5.5-4.5 down going into the last two sets.

A spirited performance saw Declan Bailey and Sam Lake win the last boys’ set 6-2 for the visitors and Harriet Lake and Emma Nolan sealed the victory with a 6-4 win.
