JASON Booth has been told by his own promoter that he will be fighting in the last chance saloon when he meets Scott Quigg next month.

The 33-year-old defends his British super-bantamweight title against the unbeaten Bury youngster in the Premier Suite at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium on Saturday, October 22.

Booth goes into the contest against the WBA ranked number three having been knocked out in 10 rounds by European champion Kiko Martinez in April.

Booth, who has won 36 and lost seven of his fights since he started boxing professionally in June 1996, and competes in his 22nd major title fight when he faces Quigg, pictured, who is almost 11 years his junior and has won all of his 22 bouts.

But Frank Maloney has warned: “I have had some many great nights with Jason and he is a pleasure to promote.

“I have told him that if he loses this one it will be very hard to stay in title contention and it might be the end, but he didn’t need me to tell him that.

“He will be the underdog because Quigg has been unstoppable so far, but Jason has delivered so often when he has suffered a loss.

“Jason has never suffered consecutive defeats and showed there was plenty left after losing his world title fight against Steve Molitor, by bouncing back and beating Jamie Arthur.”

Tickets, priced between £35 and £75 are available from www.frankmaloney.com or by phoning 0871 226 1508.

Meanwhile, outside of the ring, Quigg has left Collyhurst and Moston Lads Club gym to train with Joe Gallagher at Gloves in Bolton.
