RADCLIFFE AC had a good turn-out when 17 ran the Red Rose Cross Country League races at Leverhulme Park in Bolton on Saturday.
Fiona Lynch (V40), whose son Ewan took part in the under-11s boys' race, was placed 14th out of 136 women and was third in her age group when she clocked 23mins 56secs on a very muddy course.
Chemane Brier was the next woman home for the club in 59th position with 27:19.
Kath Davies (V50) clocked 29:35secs with Caroline Mullineaux close on her heels in 29:39secs.
Susanne Andrew ran 32:00.
Among the men, Mark Williams (V45) was first home on a longer course than the women with a time of 43:35secs.
Ian West (V50) ran 47:14secs, Ian Warrington was close behind in 47:18.
Chris Paxton was next home in 49:30 and Dave Bartlett ran 49:45secs.
Other results include Paul Swyers (V45) 50:50, John Andrew (V40) 51:04, Ken Smith (V55) 51:13, Mark Cartwright (V45) 52:12, Mark Wolfenden (V45) 53:09, Mauro Rotondi (V45) 58:09 and Chris Fletcher 1:03:05.
The Red Rose League is one of two the club take part in during the cross country season.
Radcliffe had a first place when Mike Cooke ran the Burrs Country Park 5k on Sunday and clocked a fine 21: 03.
In the 300th Heaton parkrun on Saturday, Nick Barnes was one of the 433 taking part and first home for the club in 24:16secs.
Sheila Jones (V60) ran 24:34 and Zena Knowles came home in 25:49.
At Bolton parkrun, Rob Lister (V50) ran 25:18.
On Sunday, 16 members took to the snowy and muddy hills for a taste of fell running led by Fiona Lynch and Luigi Salzano.
For some it was their first time on the fells and they all enjoyed a steady five-mile plus adventure around the moors at Holcombe.
