RADCLIFFE Athletic Club's Fiona Lynch was second woman home and first in her vet-40 age group in the 10k Standish Hall Trail Race at Wigan. 

Her time of 44mins 18secs was also enough to clinch 29th place overall.

Neal Emmerson also continued his fine form by finishing 8th out of 139 runners in a time of 39:51. 

Three other members of the team competed in the event, which was part of the club's trail championship.

Chris Paxton was 37th in 45:15, followed by Kris Lee (51st in 47:06) and Lisa Carter (115th in 56:44).

Mauro Rotondi took part in the 21k Great Eastern Bubble Dash during a holiday in Kuala Lumper, clocking 1:53:00 in hot and humid conditions.

And Ian Hopkinson travelled to Portsmouth to join more than 20,000 in the 10-mile Great South Run at Southsea on Sunday.

His time of 1:32:40 was a personal best for the distance and earned hin 6,457th place.

In the 5k Heaton Parkrun Peter Hunter ran 21mins 47secs: Vince Ashton had a pb for the course with 22mins 50secs: Sheila Jones (V60) ran 23mins 31secs, close to her best there, Tammy Oluyori clocked 29mins 17secs and Iain Harris (V65) 29mins 18secs.

At Bolton Mark Wolfenden (V55) ran 22mins 05secs: Eileen Royle (V65) 26mins 19secs and Natalie Hitchen 34mins 28secs.
