Elton Lib C are at the summit of Bury Open Snooker League’s B Section following a close-fought match with Stanley.

Just four points separate the top six after a final-frame win for Anthony Milne (72-39) to enable Elton to take the match 7-2.

Radcliffe Central C are second after beating Whitefield A 6-2. Keegan Cubbins got the ball rolling with an opening frame 64-23 win.

Buchanans B produced the biggest victory in the B Section, beating Bury Snooker C 8-1. Bury Snooker can feel hard done by as all the frames were close.

Elton Lib D beat Radcliffe Central D 6-2 at home as three frames were settled on the black. But Danny Evans’s opening frame 86-29 proved decisive. In the final match in the section, Huntley C won 6-2 at home to Seedfield A.

There were some big frame wins but none more so than century-maker Paul Gill with a fine 104-28) In C Section, Radcliffe St Mary’s are top after whitewashing Whitefield BC.

The standout performance came from Paul Frankland with a 92-35 win. Radcliffe Central B are second after beating Walshaw 7-2, Andy Eckersley producing a top performance to take his frame 90-33.

Seedfield B entertained Tottington B and, in a tight match, the frames were shared with the visitors edging the aggregate by seven points to go away with a 6-3 success. Tottington A beat Bury Bridge 6-2 with Lee Armstrong producing a captain’s performance, taking his frame 104-63. In the final match, Huntley B overcame Walmersley Con 6-2, Colin Baggot leading by example, taking the opener 64-20.

Tottington D hold a healthy lead at the top of the A Section table but were pushed all the way by Radcliffe Central A.

John Daulby took the final frame to secure the aggregate by 11 points and the match 7-2. Bury Snooker Club B entertained their D team in the closest match of the night.

Max Jones (D team) continued his fine form 69-30 but it took a final-frame win by Paul Jones to secure the aggregate by just one point and the match 6-2.

Elton Lib A took the spoils at Fishpool with a 7-2 victory, Steve Anderson taking his frame 134-37.

Whitefield Snooker B beat Salisbury 6-2 at home, Matt Green clearing the colours and winning his frame 85-43.

Buchanans A and Huntley could not be separated on the night, Huntley taking four of the frames while Buchanans secured the aggregate as the match finished 4-4.
