ELTON Lib C are top of Bury and District Open Snooker League’s B Section after recording their fourth straight win. Good performances from Steve Platt (80-23) and Anthony Milne (71-17) saw them take the points at Whitefield A with a 7-2 success.

Radcliffe Central C are their closest challengers and did their cause a power of good with an impressive 7-1 win at home to Huntley C. Most of the frames were close with the stand-out win coming from Danny Morris who won 71-39. Elton Lib D hosted Stanley and it was the visitors who took the match 7-2, Dave Kennedy setting them on their way with a fine opening 99-33 win. As a result, Stanley moved to joint third alongside Elton D. Radcliffe Central D enjoyed a fine 7-2 victory at Bury Snooker C. The outstanding performance of the fixture belonged to Jonny Holt whose 106-43 win included a 31 break.

In the C Section, there was a top-of-the-table clash as Tottington Con A hosted Radcliffe Central B. A very tight match saw the teams share the aggregate points. Tottington A potted the pink and black in the final frame and, after taking four of the six frames, took the match 5-3.

Radcliffe St Mary’s are close behind after seeing off Walshaw Con 6-2. Walshaw looked to be in the driving seat after taking the opening two frames but Radcliffe bounced back to take the other four in another close defeat for Walshaw. Walmersley Con hosted Seedfield BC B and enjoyed a fine 7-1 win although many of the frames were tight. Tottington Con B continued to push the top three and took the spoils at Bury Bridge. Dave Brooks continued to play captain fantastic as he recorded another frame win (60-43).

In the A Section, Tottington Con D were knocked off the top as Salisbury Con continued their impressive home form to just edge the match 5-3 with only five points in the aggregate. Tottington lost the last leg of the dominoes, the first time they had lost a leg in 29. Bury Snooker D are the new table toppers thanks to an impressive 7-1 win at home to Elton Lib A. Mark Turner had another impressive win with a 71-11 scoreline and was followed by the captain Sal Amin, who won 71-27. Radcliffe Central A were involved in a close match until the final frame which Paul Bennett took 99-54 to secure the match 5-3. Buchanans A are safely tucked away in mid-table and left Whitefield Snooker B propping up the table with a 6-2 home win. Elton Lib B hosted Huntley A and Dave Hunt set the home side on their way with an opening frame 114-48 success as Elton took the match 6-2 to remain third.
