If you fancied a break last week, the place to go was the Bury Snooker league as 16 breaks over 25 were recorded over 90 frames.

In the B section the top two locked horns as Central D hosted Huntley C. In a close match with the frames shared Huntley just edged the result 6-3 with Chris Berry taking the opener (90-38).

Central E moved into second place after beating hosts Seedfield A 6-3. Central’s Tony Green flourished in the fourth to take the biggest win (69-33).

St Mary’s remain winless and luckless as they were edged out by Elton Lib D 5-3, with only five chalks separating the aggregate as Elton’s Dan Evans took the last (76-38). Central B recorded their first win of the season away to Salisbury.

Andy Eckersley taking the last (83-51) as Central B took the match 7-2. Bury Snooker C turned on the style at Stanley Con. Three players recorded breaks over 30. Jed Ridgley took the opener (95-36) as Bury ran out 7-2 winners.

In the C section Walmersley take top spot after beating last week’s table toppers Walshaw B 7-2. The game had three black balls but Carl Johnson’s (91-65) win helped Walmersley to a 7-2 victory.

Bury Bridge remain in the higher echelons after taking a 5-3 victory at home to Huntley B. Tony Robinson continued his recent renaissance taking his frame (60-13) with Ian Bleakley taking the last (100-40). Tottington Con B also stay in contention with captain Dave Brooks (66-28) helping them to a 6-2 win over Whitefield BC.

Buchanans B were away to Heaton Park. Jed French continued his fine form (95-36) as Buchanans took the match 6-3. Walshaw A hosted Seedfield B and it was the visitors who took the match 7-2 in a tighter game than the scoreline suggested.

In the A section table toppers Tottington Con D continue to make an impressive defence of their title as they beat Elton Lib B 7-2. Ian Martin took the opener (108-50) including a 43 break. Fishpool hosted Bury Snooker D in a match of high quality with 4 players recording breaks over 25. Lee Marney took the fourth (95-68) for Bury as they ran out 6-3 winners.

In a local derby Central A hosted Central C. Many of the frames were won by big margins as both teams took three frames, but the A team took the spoils thanks to a final frame by Paul O’Riley (71-24) to take the match 5-3. Huntley A produced the goods with a fine 7-1 win at home to Elton Lib C.

Three of Huntley’s players recorded breaks over 25 and Colin Jones got in on the act taking his frame (102-43). Finally, Buchanans A hosted Elton Lib A in a tight match. It went to the final frame where Simon Ashworth took the last to secure the aggregate for Buchanans 6-2.
