BURY Grammar Old Boys AFC kick off their new season in just a few weeks with pre-season training already underway at Buckley Wells.

It is a season to be hopeful as they look to bounce back from a disappointing term last year in which they finished at the foot of the Premier Division.

New first XI manager Chris Graham and second team managers Chris Sheridan and Mark Clapham give the Old Boys optimism of doing just that.

And with Andy Williamson at the helm for the third XI once again, they will be looking to build on a fantastic season last year.

The club has a new state-of-the-art multi-use games area, gym equipment, superb playing pitches and a professional, fully licensed coach to support the players.

Bury GSOB welcome old and new players alike to join them for training on Tuesday and Saturday, with friendlies arranged for July 27 and August 3 and 10, the season kicking off on August 17.

“This is an important year for the Old Boys and we want to do things right, train hard, play hard and enjoy ourselves along the way,” said Graham. “We are inviting new players to come down to strengthen our first team, but the lads here look really up for it and I’ve never been more excited about a season ahead like this one.”

The squads train at Buckley Wells playing field on Tuesdays (7pm) and Saturdays (12pm).
