RADCLIFFE Borough booked a place in their first cup final in almost a decade after beating Clitheroe 2-1 in the last four of the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy on Wednesday night.
Joe Gibbons' men came from behind to seal victory at the County Ground in Leyland and line up a showdown against Ashton Athletic at Bolton Wanderers' Macron Stadium next month.
The Taurus Park outfit, who are fourth-bottom in Evo-Stik First Division North, upset the form guide to overcome their Lancashire rivals, who are pushing for a place in the play-offs in the same division.
Clitheroe made the early running, with Boro stopper Ciaran O'Loughlan called upon to make a string of fine saves.
He produced a fine double save from Louis Myers and Kurt Willoughby before tipping away midfielder Bradley Carroll's close-range header.
The pressure finally told in the 30th minute when Willoughby unleashed a sweet scissor-kick from the edge of the area after a corner was not properly cleared.
After a sluggish first half, Boro came to life after the break.
Captain Jack Hindle equalised with a deflected shot in the 57th minute and Lewis Riley put them in front on the hour mark, turning home a superb cross from Elliot Rokka.
Clitheroe bombarded the Boro goal in a bid to get back into the game, while Boro remained a threat on the break as Hindle and Lamin Baldeh tested the keeper with shots from distance.
Baldeh produced a goal-line clearance at the other end, heading away following a corner, as Gibbons' men held out.
Boro will revert to the position of favourites for the final against an Ashton Athletic side that are mid-table in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division.
The match will be played at the Macron on Tuesday, April 4, kick off 7.45pm.
