RADCLIFFE are through to the semi-finals of The Manchester Premier Cup following their 1-0 win at Trafford.

The match started with both sides trying to find their rhythm with a few half-chances for either side.

Elliot Rokka's free kick found the arms of the hosts' keeper early in the match and Rick Smith fired over from distance in the early highlights for Boro.

Trafford had their own chances too, a header clearing the bar from a corner and a free kick which went the wrong side of the post.

But Radcliffe edged the first half with Michael Fowler shooting just from distance and Lewis Lacy nearly scoring from a corner on the stroke of half time.

Scott Metcalfe's deliveries from corners were causing headaches for the Trafford defence throughout the evening but it took until just after the hour amrk for the breakthrough, the ball falling to Lacy to tap home at the back post.

Trafford responded immediately and a square ball across the box was fired wide of the goal. Despite that opportunity the away side held on, with the back line able to counter any threat offered.

It was only Trafford's third home loss of the season, two of which have come at the hands of Jon Macken's side.

The victory means Radcliffe have made the competition's final four for the seventh time, and will face either Chadderton, Curzon Ashton or FC United of Manchester for a place in the final.

Boro return home for this Saturday's match, hosting Market Drayton. Kick off is 3pm.
