RAMSBOTTOM United’s prolific strike partnership of Lee Gaskell and Jon Robinson both picked up individual awards at the club’s annual presentation evening recently.

The pair amassed more than 50 goals between them in the club’s debut season at Evo-Stik Division One North level – a goal glut that took the Rams so close to a place in the play-offs before last-gasp heartache on the final day.

Gaskell ended as top scorer with 32 goals in 46 appearances to earn the Supporters’ Player of the Year, while Robinson – who bagged 26 goals – was named Clubman of the Year.

The special guest at the dinner was former Premier League striker Dean Windass and he saw defender Danny Warrender pick up the Players’ Player of the Year award.

The Rams can now look forward to what they hope will be another positive campaign and they have announced a series of pre-season friendly fixtures before the league kicks off again on August 17.

The first friendly date announced so far is on Saturday, July 13 when Rammy travekl to Rochdale Town. They then visit Ashton Athletic and Abbey Hey before a home clash against former Football league outfit Stockport County on July 23.

An away trip to Colne and a home fixture against AFC Fylde, on August 6, are also on the list of friendlies.

Meanwhile, the Rams have appointed a new club secretary in the shape of Graham Shuttleworth.

Shuttleworth, who has worked previosuly at Curzon Ashton and Witton Albion, takes over from Malcolm Holt who stepped down recently.
