Ramsbottom United suffered a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Unibond Division One North side Skelmersdale United in the Lancashire Trophy quarter-final on Tuesday night.
Andy Sensale fired United level on 46 minutes after Towey had put Skelmersdale in front on 21 minutes. Further strikes from George Donnelly, Morrison and Bathurst saw the Riverside men comprehensively beaten.
They travel to local rivals Atherton LR on Saturday in a bid to play their first Vodkat North West Premier League march since Boxing Day.
