BURY are hoping to announce their new manager in the coming days.
Following last weekend’s shake-up – which saw Dave McNabb relinquish his role to become the club's head of football operations – the Shakers have been busy interviewing prospective candidates this week to fill the Gigg Lane vacancy after applications for the post closed on Sunday
It is unlikely a new boss will be officially appointed in time for Saturday’s home clash with Mossley but the club confirmed that Tim Lees will continue to manage the side on an interim basis.
Lees, McNabb’s assistant since joining Bury from Bootle two years ago, was due to take charge of last weekend’s NPL West clash at Shifnal Town but the fixture was postponed.
A spokesman for the club said: “The search for a new manager continues. It's expected that Tim Lees will be in interim charge for Saturday's Northern Premier League fixture against Mossley at Gigg Lane.
“Further updates will be released as and when possible."
With last weekend’s game postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, Bury slipped from fourth place to seventh in the league table. They have won three of their last 10 NPL West fixtures and are currently seven points behind league leaders Lower Breck.
The club will want a new man in charge ahead of a hectic festive period. After this weekend's home clash with Mossley, Bury travel to Newcastle Town on December 20 before hosting Clitheroe on Boxing Day. They then make the short trip to Stalybridge Celtic on New Year's Day.
