Bury kicked off their pre-season build-up with a 3-0 win at Tottington United on Saturday.

In what was a mixture of first-team regulars, youngsters, and trialists, goals from Gerry McCullion, Kai Evans, and Mo Touray sealed victory in a local derby watched by a decent following of Shakers fans.

On Tuesday, Bury came out on top in an eight-goal thriller at Bacup Borough, eventually winning 5-3.

Bacup’s opener was cancelled out by new signing Oliver Hodgson – the latest addition to the club’s newly established Emerging Talent Group – before a trialist put Bury ahead.

Touray made it two goals in two games to make it 3-1 before Boro pulled one back.

Touray scored his second and Bury’s fourth in the 34th minute before the half finished with a third goal for the hosts.

The goals dried up in the second half with Liam Gould scoring Bury’s fifth goal.
