A Summerseat woman has taken over a village pub to save it from closing.
Lisa Moore, owner of the café bar chain Cosalea and former landlady of the Victoria Pub in Walshaw, is running the Hamers Arms in Summerseat on a short-term contract.
She has taken it on with a view to creating a community asset for all in the heart of Higher Summerseat.
On the opening night in February, residents joined Lisa and North Manor Cllr Liam James Dean for drinks and live music from local singer Andrea Lynette-Young.

Speaking after the opening night evening, Lisa said: “Returning to Summerseat as the temporary landlady of The Hamers Arms is an exciting prospect for me.
“I have fond memories of growing up and the pub being a big part of village life.
“Along with the team, I look forward to engaging with the local community, serving some good quality food and bringing our experience to enhance the good work already done.”

Lisa grew up in the village as her parents owned the newsagents on Newcombe Road, Mills and Wrigley, which, though it closed, many residents will still remember.
She also attended Woodhey High School in Ramsbottom.
Cllr Dean added: “Our community should be really excited that Lisa is coming back home to her roots in Summerseat to take on The Hamers Arms.
“Knowing what she’s done in other places and the community spirit she creates around her businesses I’m looking forward to the future of The Hamers.”

Tracy Duncan, area manager for Star Pubs and Bars, which owns the pub, said: "We're delighted that Lisa is taking over The Hamers.
“With two popular cafe bar's in the area, she has got a great understanding of what local residents want as well as a reputation for serving fantastic food and drink.
“Lisa has lots of exciting plans to help The Hamers thrive as a top-quality community local.
“We wish her all the best!”
