Bury Music is making opera more accessible to young people in the area.

The project was called Create and Sing and was based on Mozart's opera The Magic Flute.

It was delivered to 14 primary schools by Bury Music, in partnership with the Royal Opera House.

The project aimed to introduce young people to the world of opera and to make it more exciting and accessible to them.

As part of the project, the children learned six songs and created scenes that portrayed the story of The Magic Flute.

They were supported throughout the process by the team at Bury Music and their school teachers, who helped them to develop their skills and confidence.

The project was then culminated in a performance at The Met theatre in Bury town centre.

On the day, each school had a rehearsal with a six-piece live band made up of piano, bassoon, cello, horn, violin, and flute.

The schools then put their parts together to create a stunning performance, which was enjoyed by family and friends.

“Many of the children who took part had never been to a theatre or heard any opera before, but they are now honorary members of the Royal Opera House company.”

This is the third opera project that Bury Music has worked on with the Royal Opera House team, and they have been amazed by the standard of performance from the children of Bury.
