He is a five-year-old ex-racing greyhound who came to Bleakholt after he retired, and is extremely affectionate and walks nicely on a lead but does have to be muzzled.

Sanctuary manager Karen Weed said: "Roddy is a nice-natured dog who is good with similar-sized dogs.

"We get a number of ex-racing greyhounds in like Roddy and people think they need a lot of exercise, but they do tend to be couch potatoes.

"We do our best to find them the perfect home as they have usually had a tougher life at times.

"They do make the most wonderful loving pets."

As Roddy is an ex-racing greyhound, he cannot live with cats or small furry animals.

Roddy is very affectionate and does enjoy leaning on you for a much-needed tickle, he could live with older children, but he has never been around young children, he walks nicely on the lead.
