Greater Manchester Police have confiscated two vehicles while carrying out patrols in Bury.

Earlier today, Thursday, a police spokesperson reported officers had seized car and a dirt bike in two separate incidents in the borough.

Officers spotted a suspicious car on Sawyer Street which failed to stop for police.

The vehicle drove off down the side streets before officers found it abandoned and allegedly using false number plates.

The vehicle was seized after officers say it had not been insured. Writing on the GMP Bury North Facebook page, a spokesperson said: “Suspicious vehicle spotted on Sawyer Street, Bury.

"Failed to stop for Police, driving off at speed down the side streets. Officers located the vehicle abandoned, on false plates. Seized, no insurance.”

The vehicle was seized after officers say it had not been insured.

This morning, GMP reported that officers patrolling near Clarence Park had seized a dirt bike at the popular green space on Sunday.

Officers say the bike was causing a nuisance to the public.

The spokesperson said: “Bike seized on Sunday in Clarence Park, vehicle causing a nuisance in a public area.”
