A police appeal has been launched after a baseball bat attack in Bury.

The assault happened at Whitehead Park on Ainsworth Road on Friday at around 8.20pm.

A group of four or five male teenagers, believed to be aged between 14 and 18 were spotted with a baseball bat at the time.

Police are appealing for any residents who may have CCTV or Ring doorbell footage of the incident or of the teenagers to come forward.

A spokesperson for GMP Bury North said: “Police are investigating an assault which occurred in Whitehead Park on Friday, July 28 at around 20.20.

“PC Hubbard from the neighbourhood crime team would like to ask local residents around Whitehead Park to check their CCTV and Ring doorbell cameras to see if anything is captured around this time.

“We are interested in any footage that captures a group of four or five males who are described as being aged between 14 and 18 and in possession of a baseball bat.

“Additionally, anybody who may have witnessed this incident or seen anything circulating on social media in relation to it are encouraged to come forward.
