Heaton Park Food and Drink Festival returned in style at the weekend, attracting thousands of foodies despite the wet weather.

Stalls selling everything from homemade sweet treats to Malaysian style curries were on offer with live music and demos throughout the days as well as magic tricks and shows for children.

More than 150 artisan market traders were in attendance, selling a diverse selection of handcrafted products and culinary delights.

Festival organiser Michael Johnston said: "It was a weekend full of plenty of laughing, dancing, singing, eating and drinking despite the rainy British weather.

“We enjoyed top chefs, incredible food and drink producers, live music, tribute acts, wacky entertainment.

“The support was phenomenal.

"The weather was not so kind over the weekend, but that didn't seem to dampen spirits as thousands of foodies came to enjoy the festivities over the weekend."

A live cookery theatre was hosted by The Great British Bake Off contestant Makbul Patel and a line-up of esteemed chefs shared their expertise and skills in front of large crowds.

Michael added: "We'd like to express our thanks to the traders, partners, production team, the council, chefs, musicians and entertainers.

“It's a true team effort.

“We'd also like to express our gratitude to the thousands of attendees that joined us over the weekend - we couldn't do any of this without their support.”
