An annual arts festival in Prestwich is set to return this month boasting an exciting line-up of creative events.

Prestwich Arts Festival, which returns this month, will bring an eclectic and inspiring line-up of activities for and by the community.

The festival, which was founded in 2018, will take place from September 22 to 24 aims to bring arts to the people of Prestwich and to showcase local talent, businesses and a creative community spirit.

The programme this year includes something for everyone, including film screenings, cabaret, drawing, storytelling and more.

This year’s line-up includes:

• A screening of Perfectly Frank, a film celebrating the golden era of movie musicals. Followed by a Q&A with cast and crew.

• A celebration of queer-led cabaret with An Evening with Violet Blonde in collaboration with Prestwich Pride and Tranuary.

• The School of Curiosity: In the Clough is an enchanting outdoor promenade theatre experience for all the family from The League of Curiosity.

• A rare outing for Mark E Smith’s Hey! Luciani performed as a radio play at The Church Institute.

• Local legend Myrodoodle will bring Prestwich together for a Communadoodle in St Mary’s Flower Garden and the Longfield precinct fountain.

• Paint Away return after a fantastic event last year, with an even bigger 90s R&B social painting event at The Goods In.

• And we also welcome back We Be Kids for another family friendly afternoon of nature-based crafts and storytelling in Philips Park.

Jane Thomson, chair of Prestwich Arts Festival, said: “The festival has become a real fixture in the Prestwich calendar, and we’re always blown away by the support shown by the local community, and by the amazing local talent we’re proud to help showcase.
