A young couple are bringing authentic Thai cuisine to Ramsbottom after setting up their own restaurant.
Mylo Sedgley-Phillips, 23, and Ketsara Lumb, 25, from Rochdale, are using their combined experience in the hospitality sector to offer a “cosy and welcoming” dining option to people who may be looking for “something different”.
Sawadee Thai Dining will be opening in the first week of April in Bolton Street, with the exact date to be confirmed nearer the time.
Mylo said: “I’ve worked in various bars and restaurants in Manchester.
"Opening our own place is something that we’ve always wanted to do and it felt like the right time for us to give it a go for ourselves.”
Ketsara, who was born in Thailand, has also accrued a wealth of experience in the sector.
The restaurant will be opening at 41 Bolton Street, the site of the former Korean restaurant, KimJi, which closed earlier this month.

Mylo added: “We will be opening from midday until late in the evening to give people the option of a casual lunch with a special lunch menu offer, while also offering something more special for celebrations and evening dining.
“What makes us stand out from the rest is that we aren’t going to be bending Thai cuisine to fit a Western menu.
"It will be fully authentic with all of our dishes and main ingredients coming from Thailand.
“Hopefully we can bring even more diversity to an already thriving area.”
The extensive menu features traditional mains such as Som Tam Thai salad (fresh green papaya and carrot salad mixed in a spicy, salty sweet and sour dressing topped with fresh tomatoes, lime and roasted peanuts), Duck Tamarind (pan-fried duck breast with homemade sweet and sour Tamarind sauce topped with crispy onions and sesame seeds) and Panang Curry (stir-fried Panang curry paste mixed with creamy coconut milk, lime leaves, onion and potato topped with peanuts), alongside tasty dessert and cocktail offerings.
It also provides vegetarian and gluten free options.
Sawadee Thai Dining will be open from 12pm to 9pm from Tuesday to Sunday, with extended evening on Friday and Saturday evenings.
